the sketchbook project

It's my submission for the 2011 Sketchbook Project, off to Brooklyn to rub shoulders with 10,000 other sketchbooks on the shelves of the Brooklyn Art Library....my theme..."a path through the trees", a small visual tale about coming full circle and coming home...a day remembered just so.....

there are words woven between the pages also and they go; a path through the trees is a path home.....

cat bird green and screaming

the white songs of winter winds

piercing holes of light in a black southern sky

wild raspberries in summer, small and red

autumn figs, sticky and sweet

hot thunder crack the wet begins

children quiet drawing at dawn

copper curls and stamping no's

teasing husband, wicked grin

mud on cheeks blue eyes smile

black dog silent

folding paper in a studio white

green chilli chutney and light blue cups of sweet tea

first light mountain and five souls home
